Alice was a loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. She loved history and was adamant about the importance of a good education, and she was extremely proud of her graduation from Hobart High School in 1956. She married the love of her life Monte Stephenson (1932 -2009) in 1961 and gave birth to their only child Michael in 1968. She became a licensed beauty instructor and owned a beauty shop in Westville IN. In the 1980's she became one of the first female corrections officers in the State of Indiana and eventually retired in the 1990s. She had a wonderfully adventurous spirit that spearheaded many family vacations. As a result, we visited over 40 of the lower 48 states and Mexico, Canada, The Bahamas, and Puerto Rico. Alice passed away peacefully at her home in Lakeland Florida on March 17 2024, with hospice nurses and her son Michael by her side.
